Where Africa’s Food Heritage Meets Tomorrow

The The African Traditional Food Fair is Nigeria’s premier gathering dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and innovating with indigenous food systems. Founded in 2019, the festival began as a small grassroots gathering of just 16 people and has grown into a vibrant platform that now brings together over 2,000 stakeholders across the food, health, and cultural sectors—including farmers, chefs, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
Inspired by the traditional Mba’Apostoli dish, and rooted in the rich cultural heritage of North Central Nigeria, the festival reflects a deep connection to community, tradition, agriculture, and shared identity.

Through food exhibitions, live cooking demonstrations, cultural showcases, and storytelling, it highlights the richness of African cuisine while creating space for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and meaningful community engagement.
More than just a festival, it is a growing movement to promote sustainable food systems, empower local producers, and reconnect people with the value of indigenous foods.
